Workflow guide

Getting Started with
‍Policy IQ

Check an issued policy against selected source documents or compare policy versions, then verify and record the findings.

What to Prepare

Confirm the scope and review responsibilities with your team, then gather the relevant approved material.
  • The policy documents and the relevant quotes, binders, applications, or renewal sources.
  • The correct account, document versions, and policy periods.
  • Your checking checklist and the required comparison scope.
  • The reviewer and the intended report or follow-up format.

Follow the Workflow

1
Collect
Choose the comparison and provide the policy and source documents. Select the issued policy and its quote, binder, or application, or choose the expiring and renewal versions to compare.
2
Compare
Bring corresponding policy details into a structured comparison. Review insured details, coverage, limits, deductibles, and premiums alongside the supplied source information.
3
Flag
Identify mismatches, missing information, and changed wording. Keep forms, endorsements, exclusions, and other exceptions organized for the reviewer to investigate.
4
Review
Verify the findings and resolve questions against the source. Your reviewer confirms the documents, checks the wording, and decides what needs correction or clarification.
5
Report
Prepare the review findings and the required follow-up. Bring confirmed discrepancies and review outcomes into a structured policy-checking report.

Review Checklist

  • Verify insured information, policy numbers, carriers, and dates.
  • Compare coverages, limits, deductibles, and premiums.
  • Review forms, endorsements, exclusions, and potential restrictions.
  • Check each finding against its original source.
  • Resolve missing or conflicting information before drawing a conclusion.
  • Record reviewed outcomes and any outstanding follow-up.

Common Exceptions

A source document is incomplete

Identify what is missing and obtain the complete relevant material before confirming the finding.

An endorsement is not found

Check the full document set and the applicable schedules before concluding that it is absent.

A difference needs interpretation

Refer it to the responsible insurance professional with the source wording and context.

Expected Output

A structured policy-checking or comparison report with verified findings, review outcomes, and required next actions.

Confirm before acting.

Verify critical details against the source and complete the approvals required by your organization. The output should reflect what has been reviewed and what still needs attention.
